1 Scope

This part of ISO 10303 specifies the application module Symbolization by schematic element. The following are within the scope of this part of ISO 10303:

• the definition of a schematic element;

  NOTE 1   This capability is provided by the referenced Schematic_element application module.

• a symbolization relationship between a schematic element in a library and the thing that it symbolizes.

The following are outside the scope of this part of ISO 10303:

• the occurrence of a schematic element on a drawing.

  NOTE 2   The occurrence of a schematic element on a drawing is within the scope of the Schematic drawing application module.
