David Loffredo assembled the first version of this package by gathering together and documenting math code that existed in the STEP Tools libraries for STEP, IFC, and other engineering data. He removed depencencies on specific EXPRESS schemas and rationalized variations, such as with transforms, that had grown like Galápagos finches over the prior two decades.

The original math code had been written by Jochen Fritz, Martin Hardwick, Dave Loffredo, and Ford Oxxal.
